Rest. Recharge. Reconnect.

In today's fast-paced world, many of us spend our days surrounded by screens, traffic, deadlines, and constant noise. We often think that simply "getting outside" is enough to recharge, but there is a profound difference between being outdoors and intentionally connecting with nature.
Forest therapy, is a wellness practice that originated in Japan and invites you to slow down, awaken your senses, and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the forest. Rather than focusing on exercise or reaching a destination, forest therapy encourages you to be fully present, allowing nature to calm your mind, restore your body, and deepen your connection with the natural world.
Guided forest therapy walks blend mindfulness, gentle movement, sensory awareness, and evidence-based practices to help you experience the restorative benefits of spending intentional time in nature.
No hiking experience, athletic ability, or special equipment is required. Walks are slow, accessible, and designed for people of all fitness levels. The goal isn't to cover miles—it's simply to pause, notice, breathe, and experience the forest in a meaningful way.
Researchers have spent decades studying how forests influence human health. While forest therapy is not a replacement for medical care, research suggests that intentional time in nature may contribute to improvements in overall well-being.
Studies have found associations with:
-Lower perceived stress
-Improved mood
-Reduced mental fatigue
-Increased feelings of calm and relaxation
-Improved attention and concentration
-Lower heart rate during and after forest experiences
-Reduced blood pressure in some individuals
-Improved sleep quality
-Increased feelings of connection, gratitude, and overall well- being
Hi, I'm Erika.
I've always loved being outdoors, but it wasn't until I discovered forest therapy that I truly learned the value of slowing down and simply being present in nature. I was amazed at how much calmer, clearer, and more grounded I felt—and I knew I wanted to help others experience that, too.
That's why I created BeWild Forest Therapy. My hope is to provide a welcoming space where you can step away from the busyness of everyday life, breathe deeply, reconnect with nature, and leave feeling refreshed.
When I'm not guiding walks, you'll usually find me exploring the outdoors with my dog or enjoying the quiet beauty and simple rhythms of rural Pennsylvania.
I'd love the opportunity to share the healing power of nature with you.
A little reassurance before you arrive
If you're wondering what to expect, you're not alone. Forest therapy is designed to be accessible and welcoming for almost everyone. Walks are slow, gentle, and cover only a short distance, so you don't need to be physically fit or an experienced hiker to participate. Sessions often continue in light rain because the forest has its own unique beauty in every season, but your safety and comfort always come first, and walks may be rescheduled if conditions are unsafe. There is never any pressure to share personal thoughts or feelings—participation in group conversations is always optional, and you're encouraged to engage in whatever way feels right for you.
At this time, only trained service dogs, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are permitted during group sessions.
If you'd like to introduce your children to the experience, private family sessions can be arranged and tailored to their ages and interests.
Come as you are! Forest therapy doesn't require any special equipment—just a willingness to slow down and be present.
